Our African drumming sessions are drawing to a close! Thanks to the
brilliant Sarah Westwood from Drum Voice (www.drumvoice.co.uk) has been
brilliant, and has given lots of children in Heartlands and across Hodge
Hill the chance to experience some really different and exciting music.
To celebrate the hard work of Sarah and the young people, we are having
a performance showcase of African drumming, presented by Kids United:
Naseby Centre, Birmingham, Monday 6th February at 6pm. Come along to see
what the guys have been up to for the past few months and to try it out
for yourself if you like!
Youth Music awarded the Heart of England Foundation Trust a grant to carry out a major music project with children and young people at Heartlands Hospital and in the Hodge Hill community. Free workshops will take place from 31st October until March 2013 in lots of different types of music - African drumming, songwriting, DJing, rapping...and there will be a chance to work towards an Arts Award and to take part in performances and events at the hospital.
